the Journey which never ends
Class of civil2020
WORDS FROM CR OF CV2
It was during April of ’17, a lot of confusion and chaos. Of course, it was election time at NITK. Talks of backstabbing (barrel; pun intended) and cross voting filled the air. On the day the nominees list was out, I scrolled through it to know who my competitor was. Alas!! none. And that’s how I became the CR of CV2.
Fast forward to july ’17, college was to reopen in the last week of the same month. My phone was hush with notifications. I checked my phone. The “cv2 official” group was full of questions about what to do for the new sem (just iris things). I thought I got into the wrong class-the nerd class. O shit!!!
But when the classes started……….a sigh of relief ,this wasn’t a nerd class. CV2 is one of the coolest classes in campus. Being a CR of this class was fun for me. I will cherish all the moments I have spent with these people. Especially Sumanth’s lame jokes and Satish’s tuition after the college classes.
When Mayank had asked me to write this article, I was caught off guard. If I have to speak about my experiences in cv2 till now, it will take more than just a word document. My friends know all the shit we have done during our stay at NITK . But Mayank asked me to keep it short. So I’m just leaving it here.
I wish everyone all the best for their future.

I still remember the day I stepped into the civil dept building. The thought that I will be studying there for the next 3 years was exciting and at the same time it was making me anxious. I was already missing my first year class mates, the ATB and some of the professors too. You know, the feeling was almost very similar to the first day of school but it was just that I was thinking more about the new people I will be meeting and the civil subjects and the professors of the department. (I came to know the civil dept profs are the coolest) And praying god that we don’t have attendance for at least for one subject (that’s never gonna happen). And making the resolutions to myself that I would never bunk a class from today and maintain a neat notes. (none of which I never followed anyways)

I don't remember how I felt the first day of my 3rd sem. Because i wasn't excited.May be the reason was I wanted to change my branch and it didn't happen. Many of them told me 3rd sem in civil is easy, but I didn't want that thought to be in my mind since I was already upset with my first year grades. I started the sem aiming to get good GPA. Even though I succeeded in it, I wasn't that happy, because most of them had 9+ sgpa. Also 3rd sem had the most boring subjects except 3 subjects. Then came the 4th sem which was supposed to be one of the hectic sem in civil engineering at nitk. I was scared and was studios first half of the sem. I also found the 4th sem very interesting. And by that time I had met craziest people, my friends and was losing hold on my studies. But the class topper was also one among them. I had the greatest time in civil department since I was part of their gang. And that made 4th sem tough sometimes but it was because of them later which made me feel it easy. As a conclusion I just wanna say that if you are just aiming for grade the sem is no fun. It is also important to have interest in the subjects, though you can't help yourself in few subjects. But your engineering life will be memorable only if you have good friends with whom you can study and also have fun..
